Press Release: Fieldmouse Press Launches Crowdfundr for Spring + Summer 2022 Season to Publish Four Comics

(June 6, 2022) Grass Valley, CA based Fieldmouse Press, a nonprofit comics publisher, is bringing its Spring and Summer 2022 Season to readers through a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdfundr, which launched on June 6th, 2022. This project launch is one of the first on Crowdfundr, a crowdfunding platform built by ConnectionPoint (Fundrazr, CoCoPay).

Headlining the season is Now & Other Dreams, a 212-page collection of new and past work by Eisner-nominated cartoonist Daryl Seitchik. Seitchik’s tremulous line and deadpan sense of humor guide the reader through the mundane and mystical aspects of her imagination. Now & Other Dreams is an essential collection that plumbs the depth of the human psyche.

Our first comic in translation is Good Person Trouble, a 100-page graphic novel by Noëlle Kröger, translated from the German by Natalye Childress. Bertholt Brecht meets Judith Butler in this fascinating English-language debut. Kröger’s work is a visual delight; the self-published edition of this comic won the 2021 Dear to Our Heart GINCO Award.

Our first minicomic in the season is Magic Nation #1  by Ellen O’Grady. This 40+ page minicomic revises and expands the work that Ellen originally published online at SOLRAD. In this first printed installment of her ongoing autobiography. O’Grady’s delicate line and vibrant watercolor illustrations lead readers through the wooded explorations of O’Grady’s childhood.

Finally, we are pleased to introduce readers to Phoebe Mol, whose 32-page minicomic Fish Out of Water is a wash of vivid colors and metaphorical storytelling. Grotesque fish, polluted lakes, and the work of Clarice Lispector all bleed through the thin veneer of reality in a debut that recalls the work of Noel Freibert, JULIACKS, and Margot Ferrick.

Fieldmouse Press was established in 2019 and is best known for SOLRAD, the online literary magazine for comics, and as the publisher of Ariel Bordeaux’s Clutter. The Spring + Summer 2022 Season campaign goes live on June 6 2022 and will run until July 12, 2022.
